A Perfect Gift: Top Secret Bridal Session

You may remember Katie: the down-to earth, Jeep-loving beauty queen whose late summer engagement session is one of the most-visited posts ever on our site.  Well, fast forward to the present, with a July wedding just around the corner.  Katie hasn’t exactly been sitting with her hands folded; no, planning a wedding together can be fun–and tiring.  Katie and her mom worked out so many wedding details that she decided that she needed the perfect gift to tell her mom, “You mean the world to me,” and “thank you for teaming with me to create an amazing wedding day.”  She settled on a large framed bridal portrait to display at the wedding from a bridal session that her mom never knew existed!  This is how it came to be that Katie and I stole away in early June with her gown tucked in the back seat and her hair done perfectly curled (thank you Elizabeth Towers!).

We headed to one of the most beautiful, private, and photogenic locations in the area: The Ponds of Coldwater.  This is a fabulous outdoor venue for weddings, events, or just to go and take photos.  It was easy to take advantage of the variety : A covered bridge, grassy knolls, picturesque gazebo, mirroring ponds, towering pines and a soothing creek make the perfect setting for an exquisite bridal session. Combine all this with “the golden hour” glowy light that comes before sunset and the results were magical!  Check out below for some of the photos… or visit this link to our proofing gallery to see the entire session!

Psst: Spoiler alert: Greg and Katie were married this last weekend!  It was amazing… be on the lookout!

Psst#2: The “chosen” photo is all the way at the bottom!

Katie displayed the portrait above in a gorgeous rich chocolate frame beside the wedding entrance with some sweet words directed to her mom… such a thoughtful, personal, and timeless gift.
