Autumn Escape

Roadtrips are definitely a habit for us these days.  Combine photographic travels, having both of our families out of state (WI and VA aren’t exactly neighbors), and missing friends all over the country, and we have put 50k miles on our sweet Jeep in the past 2.5 years.  This weekend we teamed up with the Buehrers on a much needed autumn escape to Rockwell Lake Lodge in Luther, MI where God has already set fire to the trees.  The cider was brewing and the donuts were baking.  We hiked in the color, took naps, dipped honeycrisps into caramel, sipped wine by the fire, picked apples at the orchard, and even populated the dance floors of Cadillac, MI.   There isn’t anything much better than a free weekend and good friends to usher fall right in.
