New Kids in the Neighborhood

As a no-child-two-pet household, I use  Baxter the orange tabby and his partner in crime, Koda the golden retriever as perpetual photos subjects.  I also shamelessly use them as child-substitutes, but that’s a different story (Baxter has indeed ridden in a sling while I did the dishes… I’ll admit!)  If I may so bore you, below are a few images from a warm Sunday afternoon.

See how we match?  Color-schemes are intentional so neither will guess they are adopted.   We look completely related.  Orange is the new golden is the new strawberry blonde…

Please don’t let the façade fool you–this one does his fair share of falling from heights, eating his feet, and diving at Koda’s wagging tail.

Koda behind bars: he definitely has a thing or two to say about being locked up while the rest of the neighborhood parties.

Sam, the neighborhood pal.  Who can deny this little one when he jumps up on your porch?

Baxter has gotten a little room to breathe from his overprotective mama. His first day as an outdoorsman proves him a fine and capable feline.
